A shimmering cultural gem in the very heart of the city! Liepāja Concert Hall "Lielais Dzintars" is the region's most important cultural centre and an outstanding example of modern architecture in the Baltics. Designed by the Austrian architect Volker Giencke, the building visually resembles a sunlit piece of amber washed ashore on the Baltic Sea coast. Its unusual, slightly tilted shape and orange-red glass frame create a magical play of light both outside and inside the building.
"Lielais Dzintars" is not just a concert hall – it is home to the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, the Liepāja Secondary School of Music, Art and Design, and a place where top-level music, theatre, art and corporate events come together.
