The international motocross competition in Liepāja will bring together riders from more than 11 countries.

Pulvera street 6, Liepāja, LV-3401

In the year of Liepāja’s 400th anniversary, the international Baltic Sea Cup 2025 will take place. The first competition of the season, organized by the Latvian Motorsport Federation (LaMSF), will be held at Motopark "Lauma" in Liepāja. This will be the second year that the competition is held under this name. Professional riders from more than 11 countries will take to the starting line, with at least 20 of them being champions in world motocross competitions.

The March 16th competition in Liepāja is highly anticipated and will attract attention from both motorsport fans and media across the region. This event is expected to be the most significant motocross competition in Latvia this year. It is the second consecutive year that the Baltic Sea Cup is being held, and it has already gained high recognition in its first edition.

The Lauma motocross track has been meticulously prepared for this grand event. Training sessions take place almost daily, with riders from various European countries already using the track in preparation for the March 16th race.

Event organizer Lauris Freibergs, while preparing for this major event, states:
"The Lauma track is known for its technically challenging sections, allowing riders to showcase their full potential. This year, we have made several track improvements and enhancements, as well as worked on surface quality to make the race even more enjoyable for participants. I have put a lot of effort, time, and dedication into upgrading this track."

The event is expected to feature a strong lineup of participants from more than 11 countries, making it a truly international competition. Among the competitors are both young talents and experienced riders, who will battle for glory and victory.

Among the participants, there will also be female competitors.

Among all the participants, special attention will be given to Vilma Forsgren from Finland – a female competitor racing in the 125cc class. She could also be spotted during a training session in late February: “I’ve come to Liepāja with my coach, Marita Nyqvist. She is my greatest supporter here!” Vilma serves as an inspiration for women who want to try their skills in this dynamic sport.

Notable registered participants include: Liepāja’s own Uldis Freibergs #684, Gert Krestinov #37 from Estonia, Ken Benkston #80 from Sweden, Latvian Edvards Bidzāns #57, Brad Todd #714 from England, Latvian brothers Cīruļi #771 and #751, and Lucas Leok #111 from Estonia.

Spectators will be able to enjoy the competition free of charge.
